The October Surprise is here

What's the October Surprise going to be this year?

We had hardly begun to speculate on what the awful event would be when it fell on us on July 15. It's called Decision Points and it's a book written by, or on behalf of, George Bush. It will be published in October.

Just when a fervor for smaller, more limited, government is sweeping the land, and the occasionally conservative Republican Party has a chance to stop  the Obama madness, Bush steps in to muddy the message and perhaps squander the opportunity.

Bush, the allegedly compassionate conservative whose compassion was misplaced and conservatism was undetectable - a Big Government politician whose gargantuan spending and augmentation of government continues to give cover to Barack Obama's even more sordid performance.

It's time to denounce Bush. He has, in fact, made that necessary to preserve this once-in-a-lifetime chance to restore limited government in the United States.
