Despite its contentious history, most American voters appear to have made a positive judgment about the country's efforts in Iraq. Almost six in 10 (58 percent) voters think, overall, the United States "did the right thing" by going to war, according to the latest Fox News poll.
A little over one-third of voters (35 percent) take the opposite view -- that the U.S. "did the wrong thing" by becoming involved militarily in Iraq. From a partisan perspective, there is still division -- as 54 percent of Democrats think the U.S. did the wrong thing in Iraq, while only 14 percent of Republicans feel the same way. A slim majority of independents (52 percent) think the U.S. did the right thing in Iraq.
The national telephone poll was conducted for Fox News by Opinion Dynamics Corp. among 900 registered voters from September 1- September 2, 2010. For the total sample, the poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
An even larger share of voters (71 percent) expresses some level of agreement with the view that the Iraqi people are better off today because of the U.S.-led action, while 19 percent disagree.

Does this remind you of anyone who lives in the White House and is often on television?
The term "narcissistic rage" gets 26,000 citations in Google Scholar. It is a common feature of extreme or pathological narcissism.
While psychiatrists often say they can't do long-distance diagnosis, it really isn't that hard if you have a lot of information about a person and can watch how he operates from day to day. Intelligence agencies around the world have psychiatric staffs for exactly that purpose.
While most people are pretty hard to predict, extreme narcissists are comparatively simple. They constantly hunger for ego gratification, they are immature, constantly need to demonstrate their own superiority, often need endless sexual conquests (like Bill Clinton), are manipulative, constant liars, are completely cold about the human beings they harm (like John Edwards), and they deal with frustration by uncontrollable fits of rage.
I think that's what we saw last week with the White House lashing out at Fox News.

A satirical look at the current success, challenges, and future prospects of Fox News
Fox News Chairman Rupert Murdoch revealed Monday that he is putting the finishing touches on a progressive nuclear option that he may deploy against the hostile Obama administration and its allies in the receding media.
In essence, his strategy rests on growing reliance on his most effective troops, the gorgeous and curvaceous blondes who look boldly into Fox cameras smf deliver the news with the clarity and simplicity of Dirty Harry. The formula grabs the attention of most men, and not a few women, resulting in Fox's dominance of television news.
Fox's conservative perspective has led to numerous critical reports on the leftist Obama administration, however, and the president has taken swipes at Fox.
If the sniping doesn't stop, Murdoch said, he willl take the following steps.
First, he will arrange for his blonde foot soldiers to raise their hemlines by one inch every week as long as the conflict persists. Bust llines will grow by one-half inch a week.
Ultimately, Bikinis are not out of the question.
Lipstick tones will become more bold. Words and phrases will grow more provocative. New blonde foot soldiers will take the stage on a regular basis.
"You will know that Fox has won," Murdoch said, when Bill Clinton admits that he never misses a Fox News broadcast."

Good for us: John Stossel moves from ABC to Fox
"It's time for a change. Next month, I leave ABC News to start a weekly one-hour prime time show with Fox News.
When I announced that on my blog, plenty of viewers said they were happy to have me leave.
"Goodbye. You suck. You have found a much better home for your garbage reporting and backwards politics."
"Congratulations on the move to the network intellectually suited to your quasi-libertarian corporate-apologist hackery!"
Oh well, you can't please everyone. I don't expect that my libertarian beliefs will please everyone at Fox, either."

Coming soon to Fox News: a news host who drinks coffee and makes faces...Oh, wait!
"News Corp. is forming an external diversity council in response to pressure over a New York Post cartoon that critics said compared President Barack Obama to a dead chimpanzee.
The cartoon appeared in February. News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch published an apology in the Post, but civil rights and community organizations demanded further action.
NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous said Wednesday that News Corp. had agreed to form a "diversity community council" that will meet semiannually with company executives.
The council will include members of the NAACP, 100 Black Men of America, the National Action Network and the National Urban League."
