Two years before Fort Hood shootings Army brass knew troops were vulnerable to jihadists

Investigative reporter Bill Gertz has revealed: “Almost two years before the deadly Fort Hood shooting by a radicalized Muslim officer, the U.S. Army was explicitly warned that jihadism — Islamic holy war — was a serious problem and threat to personnel in the U.S., according to participants at a major Army-sponsored conference.”

Over 350 Army officials involved in counterterror efforts attended this February 2008 conference. One of the speakers, Lt. Colonel Joseph Myers, explains the topic of his lecture: “I noted that because of our lack of understanding of Islamic doctrines, Islamic Jihad and my view that our counterintelligence function is broken, outdated and being usurped in some cases by public affairs and equal opportunity officials, we were going to get soldiers killed in America, on our own bases for that professional ignorance.”

And that’s just what happened at Fort Hood.

What makes this so profoundly disturbing is that it shows that senior level officials knew. They were explicitly warned that jihadism — Islamic holy war — was a serious problem and a threat to military personnel and civilians alike. And still they did nothing. Not only did they do nothing, but they left known jihadis like Nidal Hasan, who murdered thirteen Americans at Fort Hood in his jihad attack of November 2009, in place and unsupervised.

They knew. And still they sacrificed Americans.

Now that political realities are signaling doom for President Barack Obama's fascist transformation of America, political theater is resuming its proper place in national affairs.

One year of White House missteps and failures is almost over. The administration is trying to prove to the nation that it isn't quite dead yet.

That's why the House narrowly passed ObamaCare.

Now Obamacare must navigate  a Senate populated by Republicans desperate to prove they're conservative enough and Blue Dog Democrats desperate to prove they dislike Obama's fascist agenda as much as normal people do.

For many of the Blue Dogs, this is important because their jobs are at stake.

The question is, what to stage at the Capital Theater?

Last week we had a Senate committee passing a presumably earth-saving bill to reduce carbon emissions. For Europeans, who are accustomed to lives of high drama featuring the likes of Hitler and Mussolini, this was a pathetic bid to get in on the save-the-earth action.

Nevertheless, the senators had to do it or say goodby to free skiing vacations in the Alps.

The question now is, what should the senators and representatives put on next at the Capital Theater?

My answer:


Show film clips of Obama, responding to the murderous rampage of Malik Nadal Hasan with these words: "I would caution against jumping to conclusions until  we get all the facts."

Play with these words by revealing all of the facts that are known.

Then, show film cllips of the World Trade Center on 9/11, followed by the Obama clip: "I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we get all the facts."

Then, show clips of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, followed by the Obama clilp on Hasan: "I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we get all the facts."

Add as many other disasters as drama permits.
