As a tactical matter, wouldn't it be shrewd of Republicans to forthrightly state now that if Obamacare somehow passes, they will mount an all-out effort to repeal it?
If opponents of Obamacare can freeze the status quo, they win. To freeze the status quo, all they have to do is keep slippage to a minimum.
How better to prevent slippage than a direct threat to seek repeal, if necessary? After all, the U.S. House is not exactly filled with self-sacrificial servants of the public interest who will willingly lose their seats to gratify Barack Obama's enormous ego.
