"I'm busy right now" is the new Washington-speak for, "I'm raising money right now, peasant, leave me alone!

HUMAN EVENTS tried to catch up with John Dingell (D-Mich.), the longest serving member of the House of Representatives, to ask him a simple question about Google and privacy rights.

His answer: "Right now I’m busy."

Busy going attending a fundraiser in one of Washington, D.C.'s posh steak restaurants, while many jobless and decent Michigan residents are lucky to eat a steak and cheese these days?

Yup.

Okay, fine. Since he was "busy" that day, we thanked him and politely walked away.

But then we caught up with him the next day at—are you ready for this—another fundraiser in D.C. Once the hobnobbing concluded, this dude was still too "busy" to answer another basic question, namely, how Democrats can continue to blame President Bush for budget-busting deficits and high unemployment when they have controlled Congress for nearly four years now?

His response? You guessed it!

Too “busy.” See for yourself:
