Finding pictorial beauty in heavy industry

One might think that heavy industry is an unlikely subject for fine art photography, but it is actually quite common. Unfortunately, much of the time the subject is treated ambivalently. Photographers such as Edward Burtynsky and Cédric Delsaux make oil wells and factories look aesthetically appealing but there is always an undercurrent of environmentalist dismay and alienation to their pictures. This is not the case in [2797° F], a collection of beautiful pictures of steel mills.
